About Paphos

Paphos is on the southwest coast of Cyprus and boasts endless activities and destinations for you to explore; whether it be a relaxing day on the beautiful beaches, a day out with the children at the waterpark, a stroll down the harbour trying out one of the many restaurants, or an adventure out sightseeing one of the many archaeological sites that Paphos is home to.

Paphos is a popular tourist attraction not just for its beautiful beaches, shops and eateries but also for its historical background.

Aphrodite’s Rock

Paphos is best known as the birthplace of the Greek Goddess Aphrodite; so why not take a short boat ride from shore to Aphrodite’s rock where the Goddess of beauty was said to have rose from the sea. Legend has it that if you swim around this rock at midnight on a full moon Aphrodite will make you look ten years younger, worth a try isn’t it……

Tomb of the Kings

This is a UNESCO world heritage site featuring underground tombs and chambers that date back to the 4th Century BC.

Kolossi Castle

This castle is famous for its Commandania which is a sweet desert wine produced by the Knights Templar in the middle ages.

Paphos Castle

Paphos Castle was originally built as a Byzantine fort to protect the harbour where it is situated. The harbour itself was built during the times of Alexander the Great. The Castle was destroyed in an earthquake in 1222 but later restored by the Ottomans in the 16th century. Since then the castle has served as a fortress, prison and even a salt warehouse.
